Make a Plan to Vote!
  1. Register to Vote: If you're not already registered to vote, you can do so one of three ways: going to the City Clerk's Office during business hours, completing an absentee voter registration if you meet the state's requirements, or you can register in-person at the polls on election day! Check out the City of Dover's web page on How to Register for information on office hours, and requirements for each type of registration.

  2. Determine if you're eligible to vote absentee: Review this absentee ballot request form to determine if you are eligible to vote absentee. If you are eligible to vote absentee, this is essentially an opportunity for you to vote early. You can apply for an absentee ballot now, and return it as soon as you complete it. It can be returned in-person to the City Clerk's Office, or by mail. Don't forget to sign the affidavit envelope!
  3. Ensure you know your polling location: If you aren't able to vote absentee, visit the City's 2023 Municipal Election website to find the polling location for your ward. If you're not sure which ward you live in, use this interactive map of Dover to find your address and determine your ward and polling place.

  4. Set a reminder to vote: set a calendar reminder, notification, or alarm on your phone so you don't forget to vote on Election Day!

  5. Share your voting plan with 3 friends: Sharing your voting plan will help keep you accountable, and letting your friends know why you're voting helps to encourage them to vote too!
